Darrell is six-feet-two, broud shoulderedand, and very muscular. Darrell ahs dark-brown hair that kicks out in the front and a slight cowlick in the back just like his dad's. Darrell has blue- green eyes that look like pale ice, they've got a determined set to him. He looks older than twenty, tough, cool, and smart. He's handsome. He uses his head! | ||||||||||||||||

Darrell was the first born in his family. He has two younger brothers, Sodapop (17), and Ponyboy (14). darrell went through Grade School getting straight "A"s in all of his classes. Darrell also went through High School getting straight "A"s. In High School Darrell made friends in school and on the football team. His best friend was on the football team. He was a Soc, and his name was Paul Holden. His other friends were in his gang. They were Steve Randle, Johnny Cade, Two-Bit Mathews and Dallas Winston. Darrell was also on the Varsity football team in High School. He was their star tail back. After Darrell graduated from high School he had colleges offering him scholarships to play football for them. Things changed over the summer for Darrell though after he graduated. His parents died, leaving Darrell with the biggest decision of his life. He had to take care of his brothers for the rest of his life or he could go off to college leaving his brothers to go to a boy's home. darrell decided to take care of his brothers for the rest of his life. To take care of his brothers and himself he needed to get a job. Due to darrell's strength, he liked to do back breaking work. So he got a jobwith a roofing company. He laid shingles on top of roofs. Darrell's income could no meat the demand of supply's they needed so his brother Sodapopgot a job at a gas station working as a mechanic. Darrell strives to help Ponyboy in his school work, and in Ponyboy's daily life because Darrell wants Ponyboy to go to college, because he never got a chance to. Darrel also wanted Ponyboy to go to college because he wanted him to do something with his life, and a good education. Some of Darrell's hobies are playing football, reading boks, and doing math.
